just bought this car and was only able to drive 2 miles down the road before overheating so i just changed water pump today and my car is still overheating going down the highway, what are possible solutions and reasonings for this problem...please help!!!

Stuck thermostat could do it, as well as air in the system or a bad fan motor to name a few. What are your signs that its over heating?

needle taps out on the 'H' and i took the thermostat out, fluids are good, has a single fan motor in it but i have the double fan but one fan motor is broken, down the highway 60 mph's it still overheats, as i accelerate temp goes up

I'm gonna go with air in the system, check all you hoses/connections just in case. I fix this but jacking the front of the car up with the right side a little higher than the left and while the car is cold open the radiator cap and turn it on and let it idle...

If you squeeze the upper radiator hose and have a gallon or two of mixed coolant you can get the car to "hiccup" most of the air.. Give that a couple rounds and you should get most of it out..

But before that pull off the thermostat housing and go ahead and replace the thermostat (try and find a motor craft thermostat with the jiggle valve, it the only one that's up to spec and allow the systems to bleed air.. )

Removing the T-Stat will cause the water to change direction and not go where it should to the rad. A larger amount of the water will flow from the pump though the heads and back to the pump with out the T-Stat there to help direct the flow. When filling the system make sure to leave the rad cap off till the car is at operating temp to get rid of the air.

i have a new problem that occurred... temperature gauge just a tat bit over halfway, drivin 55 MPH with 3,000 RPM's the car started steaming under the hood then the car lost all its power driving down the highway. at first it would keep speed at full throttle but not gain any then the car just up and died, the steam from under the hood was coming from a hoes and the throttle body, now it just wonbt start ...turns over but no start. i tried starter fluid and it sounded the same, no difference :braincramp:
