I've seen the LMS, Torrie etc on this forum. JDM Engineering , Brenspeed and VMP are what I used to seeing as mustang tuners. JDM tuned my Roush charged pony.
Any experience with these guys tuning SHOs ?
In speaking with JDM they have a different take on tuning ecoboost ... 1 step colder plug gaped @ 28-30 ( can't remember exactly) ,CAI ( optional), cat back for sound only (optional) and their tune. They think the colder t-stat and 3 bar are not necessary. 75-85 rwhp and same with tq.
I know eco pony is not awd ; are there any other differences in tuning?
Thanks

They are stupid if they think the ability to accurately read higher boost numbers is pointless. That right there screams stay far away.

Gaining 75-85hp tune only without a 3-bar would be interesting to see. I'd stick with LMS, Torrie or give Ajturbo a try (he's on ecoboostperformanceforum I believe). I'm running LMS and couldn't be happier with the results.

I wonder if the OP is comparing he ecoboost mustang to the SHO... the Ecoboost mustang might already have a 3BAR MAP at the intake manifold... so it would not be needed....

EDIT: The ecoboost mustang comes with a 2.5Bar map on the intake manifold... or 21.5psi...

The ecoboost mustangs are 2.3l 4 cylinders they do not come with the 3.5 so it's not comparable. Even the F series have different parts that don't really make direct comparisons with transverse 3.5s

What does the 3bar we use come off of?
It could come from the SHO itself but a different location. I believe (but haven't gone out and checked) the MAP sensor at the throttle body is a 3 BAR sensor and is probably the same part number as the one commonly used as a replacement on the intake.

Good call I do believe the "other" MAP sensor is a 3 bar.

Edit- just verified on rockauto

I have just began working with AJPturbo. I sent him a couple of logs of my stock Continental. After he analyzed the logs, he emailed me with his findings. I probably learned more from that email than everything else I ever knew about tuning.

I still do not like doing the pulls on the street but it is cool to have someone explain what your car is doing and what can be done to improve it. It appears my car has potential. :)

I absolutely loved the LMS tunes for my MKS. However, the Conti engine is different than the ecoboost and tuning options are limited. Since there are so few of the 3.0 Lincolns on the road, I think logging and tweaking is a good option for me. I know it will be a learning experience.

whats the hp/torque gain using lms tunes

Not sure what the peak gains are, but the gains thru the entire rpm range are pretty impressive. Mine took almost a full second off my 0-60 time. I put it back to stock once just for fun, that only lasted about 8 miles and I had to put the tune back on. It's just a whole different car.

My experience was the same. I care more about performance numbers and drivability than dyno sheets but LMS does a great job with the Ecoboost. Not only does it knock about a second off the 0-60 time but the daily driving characteristics are excellent as well.
