Well, its over. Everyone is home safely and the garage looks like no one was here. But I know different, it still echoes with people laughing, the air tools working away and the rumble of V8's firing up after a session of TLC. Damn, I love that sound. It was truly a wonderful event in all facets. Had the pleasure of meeting very many good people.

The professionalism that Chris and Kirk displayed while organizing this event and the way they conducted themselves at my house is to be noted. Thanks guys, your more than welcome in my house any time. And being somewhat of a maintenance person all my working life I was more than satisfied at their approach to working on these cars, it was a well planned quality execution from start to finish.

A lot of folks showed up for this event, and just as important they brought their little ones. I think the kids had just as much fun as the adults. That’s a good thing, I have a few pics of them at play. Yes Ian, that includes you too hehehe.

The roster as follows;

Friday (55deg and sunny)
Michael Bean from Picton for a weld.
Chuck Hamilton (my brother) for a weld.
Ian and Rika from Ottawa around 9pm for a visit.
Clint from next door to see what all the fuss was about.

Saturday (55deg and sunny)
Satt from Mississauga for a weld.
Pierre Fogal and his two boys from Guelph for a weld.
Ian and Rika for a visit and "some" work on his car.
Chuck to help out, his wife Susan came out later with the kids.
Clare and his daughter. (finally met Clare, only took 4 years!)
Teg Spencer of SHOPower.
Thomas Houghton of SHOPower.
Ando Medas of SHOPower.
Michael Bean for a visit.
Sarah and her daughter to keep an eye on Kirk. Chris too as well I think.
Devon from SHOPower to help out.
Gary Mansfield from work to see what his boss was actually up to by taking the weekend off.

Saturday was a blast. Lots of work and lots of laughs! BBQ around 4, bonfire at night. And yes, it was a late night :)

Sunday (60deg and sunny)
Lesley's '97 for a weld, cleaning and other miscellaneous work. What a difference in post-work performance, runs like it did when I bought it.

If anyone has actually read down this far I would like to thank a few people for making this a great success on such short notice. Chris was key for putting it all together. My brother Chuck for doing way more than me and being the co-host/chef. Who else would bring out more "supplies" at 1 in the morning! Devon, my 17 year old SHO mechanic from around the corner for all his help getting the garage/house ready. And of course my wife Lesley for putting up with the SHO invasion on 7 days notice, definitely a trooper. If I forgot anyone my sincere apologies, its hard to think back over the weekend with so much that went on.

There is lots more I could write about but I think that’s more than enough for now. I will say this though. If you want to meet some quality people then host a Camfest. Very good memories.

And finally...good to see you again Kirk. Those rubber strips you left on County Rd 10 will be there for a while.

Thanks all!

Thanks again for hosting. And for feeding me (beer mostly). I owe you at least a case. It was a lot of fun (from what I remember). Sunday morning was a little rougher than most and I'm still not fully recovered.
