Hi. I own a 1991 Ford Taurus Sho. Yesterday my Dad decided to help me and tossed a battery into my car. I thought it was the same battery I had been using and turns out it was not and the terminals were opposite and the cables were put on the opposite terminals (pos to neg and neg to pos). There was a lot of sparking and part of the wire from a fusible link blew out around where it connects to the starter solenoid. After, the car wouldn't turn over and kept blowing the number 8 fuse.
I replaced the blown part of wire on the fusible link and the starter solenoid. The car now will turn over but will not start. And the fuse no longer blows out.
I checked the fusible links near the starter solenoid and they all came back ok. I then checked to see if my plugs were getting spark and nothing. It's not getting any spark. All other systems are fully functional. The lights work, Digital climate control is operational, clock is on, keyless entry works, etc. Any ideas or help to what may be the cause would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
