I am brand new to the SHO and also to turbo cars. I read everything I could about the vent to atmosphere MOD and it left me with no real answers, but a lot of differing opinions. First, I looked at the posts I could find showing how to do the MOD and all the pics have been removed, which for a newbie like me leaves me clueless..
Secondly, Some say that it increases the turbo spool sound and has no negative performance effects, while others have stated there is a negative effect to performance.

For the Ecoboost experts, Does the BOV VTA mod create a provable loss of performance? The sound would be cool, but not at the expense of performance. Can someone please post or PM me a dummy guide with pics on what I need to do to successfully conduct the MOD on both the front and rear turbo blowoffs?

Thank you guys for all your help!!

I had it done on my '12, not sure if going to do it on the '13. It's cool sounding esp when your tuned. I used chair end caps to plug my end, and used the factory spring clamp to hold them in place. It's basically to each his own.

Thanks Brian, If it doesn't effect performance i would like to do it, but as simple as everyone says it is to do, I just don't know what hoses are what when it comes to a turbo car. I saw there was a step by step previously posted, but whoever had posted it, must have left the forum, so the pics left with him. I can order the hose caps, but I dont want to just start pulling hoses unless I am sure what I'm pulling. I was hoping someone could snap a pic or two of the proper hoses I need to remove and the holes I need to plug. Thanks for responding!

Don't do it. I did and as much as the sound is cool, I felt the car didn't have the low end grunt it used to have before the mod. After consulting Livernois, they suggested to undo the mod. I did a few weeks ago, and I noticed a big improvement. Besides, having the SHO sounding like it has turbos kinds of kills the whole sleeper thing.

I appreciate the input.. That was what I was asking, If anyone experienced any performance loss, etc? Did Livernois give you any input as to why you lost some low end power with the VTA? Your right, I debadged the car and like the sleeper look, so I am kinda defeating my own purpose, but I am always "tinkering" with something, it's a bad habit, LOL

Honestly I don't remember what exactly was the reason for the reasoning, however, it had something to do with the Turbo.

In the factory configuration (this is typical with most factory turbo vehicles), the BOV is routed to vent back into the air intake pipe in front of the turbo.

A bonus to running a re-circulated BOV is that the air being re-circulated can be brought back into the turbochargers intake pipe at a location and angle so that the air pressure is forced directly onto the compressor wheel. This will aid even more in helping to keep the turbo spooled up and running in-between shifts, or times when you are quickly on and off the gas pedal.
