I forgot to mention, that intake was completely gone through (Cleaned inside and out, all new gaskets, and crappy paint on the snakes) by me a few years ago. It sat on my blue 91 and white 89 with absolutely no issues before it came to rest on this blue 90. I really don't think the intake is the problem.

ONE question: Can I take the same harness from a 93 MTX and swap it in one for one? Is there anything different about that harness from 90-93 MTX?

unfortunately, there are differences - it will not be as simple as putting a 93 harness in the 90.

I don't recall specifically what all is different, but I recall enough difference that you will be chasing other issues.

What about just the EEC harness from the PCM to the CCRM and all the other junk in between? Any ideas of the years that are the same for a 90 that I can swap in? Are all gen 1 EEC-IV/engine harnesses the same?

boat, I did a comparison between the 90 & 93 Pavlin diagrams for the EEC (PCM) and functionally they are the same, but wiring colors do vary slightly. Here's a link to the page of manuals (on a Russian site).

Can't speak to the harness differences - although my PCM harness I used was not from a 95 and it had different wire colors, but same connectors.

Good luck.

Gerard, Thank you for that. I think for now, I am going to try to find a 90 harness and use that. I'd rather not have to chase wires. I am hoping to find a harness in good shape to swap in.

I don't know if you already changed the harness but there is one difference. There are 2 plugs under TB that are male and female, on a 90 and 91 they are different. Well I should say they are both female if I remember right. I had made I spliced connector, with factory plugs, so I didn't have any issues. but later on I bought another car that had same connector I made .... this one looked factory made. Mine I had soldered the wires together. Well anyways if you find out you can't plug in two under TB but everything else plugs in, you can have the plugs I have cause now I have 2 sets
