took the intake apart valve covers off but didnt mess inside the valve covers just painted the ext. used gumout carb cleaner on the intake fit together pretty good, not shure if its tightened down all the way will check that soon anyway it starts left 2 big spots under each muffler of brown/black gunk  anyway throttle response sucks and i can keep it running if i keep reving the engine and keep it around 4-5000 rpms but if i leave the gas pedal alone it dies down to nothing :( any help would be appreciated

I'd suggest you check your intake for leaks. Be sure to torque it down properly and make sure you don't have any vacume lines pinched. Did you replace the intake gasket?

The black gunk that came out of your mufflers could be residual cleaner that you sprayed in there that didn't burn off...although I'm not for certain on that.

Sounds like the ground strap is not grounded properly. Look for it on the rear passenger’s side towards the firewall. It should be grounded to the intake bracket. Also make sure the crossover tube is torqued down to spec.

If you have a good ground check for vacum leaks as Bizzy suggested.

it did seem like excess cleaner or something but not shure it was more rusty brown like the cleaner i poured out than anything once it dried and i think the intake could be lose so thats a good possibility dont think any lines got pinched but ill check and no i didnt replace the gaskets

Pullleezzze be careful..
Those kind of oversights can really hurt your SHO..and you! eek!
Don't breathe the Berryman's anymore than you absolutely have to....I think you had too much.
Make sure everything is snug and look for where all the parts used to "sit" and put them back there and only there...even minor offsets can lead you on a 'wild-goose-chase for diagnosing' what is just a minor adjustment.

Yo Ma Ma M...
