ok so one day i decided to put in premium-i use the mid range gas on the regular but anyhoo, so i go with premium, and no more than maybe 20 minutes go by and my car starts to sound like a truck. so i get home, thinking something mustve went wrong with my tune-up, just recently changed the plugs and filter, come to find out there is oil in where my spark plugs are, not sure what to do and surely dont want to take it to any ole mechanic, any help i will totally appreciate, so far its just oil in there so i assume there is a leak but where, helllp....:thankyou: or is it just the gas having it make all that noise, i dont think so but u never know~lol~

Your spark plug tube well seals (wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man!) are leaking. This is incredibly common, and I don't think I've ever seen a SHO that hasn't had oil in its spark plug wells at some point in time.

Fixing this will require you to remove the intake and valve covers and install a new valve cover gasket set and reinstall. If you're not mechanically inclined I wouldn't recommend you do it yourself.

As far as removing the oil from the plug wells, probably the best method out there is - don't laugh at me - tampons. They are super duper absorbent, will fit perfectly over the spark plug and get the deep down oil, and are easy to insert into the well due to, uh, their nature.

****, who knows, you might could turn it into a once-a-month thing just for the irony of it all. Don't forget the rear plugs - they can be a little harder to get to.

Remember, don't leave them in there too long; the car might get toxic shock syndrome.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must say that my wife, Michelle totally thought of this. Because honestly, I would've never thought of it in a million billion years. We drove through some really heavy rain one day and it flooded out the front spark plug wells. The car ran like absolute crap and I didn't wanna run it but we were ten miles from the nearest air gun... so she pulls some out of her purse and goes "well these'll work!" and I was like "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu..."

It isn't so much what you used, as how you said it. It does make sense and they would fit perfectly and it would be a great use for them, to clean out those wells. I told my roommate and he would never have thought of it either and truthfully nor would I, so thank you to your wife, she sound like a person who thinks on her feet and that is a good thing.:thankyou:
