Went with royal purple due to that's what parts house had available with a wix xp filter. Seem to smooth the engine out a little. Old oil was dirty for sure. How long are guys waiting to change oil? I figure 5000 would be a good middle. But 100miles a day is a lot on this baby. Any ideas?

IMO, 5,000 mile change intervals is a good compromise. Especially since you are stock and putting miles on fairly quickly.

I am targeting closer to 3,000 mile changes with mine since I drive fewer miles and have a tune.

rotella 5-40 with a premium filter. rotella has higher levels of zinc and phosphorous needed to help cool and lubricate turboes.

I run mobile one extended run and mobile one filter. I change the oil when the oil life monster tells me. But I don't track her and do about 75% high miles. But I check the oil level about ever 1000 miles

Probably not, too thick, use a quality 5w30 full synth (2011+). Plenty of them around and affordable too.

Can anyone tell me if using the Rotella T-6 5w40 is good for our engines and turbos ? Pros & cons ?. Thank you !

I used 1qt of T6 with 5qts of PP 5w-30 last oil change. Car was new to me with just over 22k on the odometer .

I like everything I read about T6 . Seems like a great Group IV base oil , good for HTHS and a great additive package.

I figured it would help clean my engine if it had been neglected.

However diesel oils typically have relatively high zinc ; phosphorus that may cause long term damage to the cats if your engine is burning oil.

I don't think I'll run T6 in the winter but won't hesitate during the summer months as a combination or maybe straight.

Last oil change a few weeks ago I used some 0w-30 Castrol Edge Euro A3/B4
made in Belgium

I'm thinking it's probably a Group IV

To go along with warranty guidelines, Motorcraft in my 2016.

I used Royal Purple in my 2011 though.

I like Pennzoil ultra platinum 5w-30 with MC fl-500 filter.... I been reading up on oil at the bobs the oil guy list. I am going to run the German Liqui-Moly 5w-30 and MC fl-500 filter. You can get weird start up noises if you don't use that filter....

Someone said"what about amsoil". It's one of the first synthetics made. Very high quality oil. My mechanic swears by it. Ran my lady sho 315,00 on it with no problems.
