Does it matter what brand I use to replace my oil pressure sender ? I amd still putting my 3.2l top and water hoases together, and I saw that with one of the the hoses off, I have a nice clear shot at the sender. Given I have had an oil leak for quite some time, and it looked messy in that area, I thought a quick replacement would be a good idea. Some are as low as $4.99. Some are higher. I just have the idiot light, on my dash.

Do I need to tape the threads before installing this, or just hand tighten it without ?

I would replace it with the Motorcraft unit... That particular piece comes with thread sealant already on the threads.

I think that would mean going to the dealer. Cha-CHING. My local dealer prices their stuff like it should be under a glass case.

Not really, I bought mine at O'Reillys for $6.99 and tax (they carry or can order most Motorcraft items). If they don't have it in stock, they can usually get it overnight.

Well, I was trying to post a link, but it looks like their website is down....

I buy most of my Motorcraft stuff at a local parts store in town.
