oil level sender.

I am pretty sure I have a small leak at the oil sender located on the pass side of the oil pan.
Question: Can u run some RTV around the sender unit? Or should I replace the entire unit?
Part number for the unit if anyone has it.

BTW, Is the sender supposed to come out EASY? Mine comes out if the wind is blowing to hard

Just replace it. I did mine last year, but can't remeber the part number.. I got it from the dealer, and think it was like $25, but you can most likley get it at NAPA.

Ford PN F2AZ-6C624-A, $17.80 at dealer. Also a good idea to order the special gasket, E9DZ-6C626-A, $2 at the same time. RTV won't stick to an oily surface, and its doubtful you could clean the old one enough to stop the leak.

Just for the record, that is the oil LEVEL sender.

Well, he said the one on the passenger side. The pressure switch is closer to the driver's side, up on the block.
