It's going to look like the oil is coming from there no matter where it is leaking on the front side of the engine. I would pull the timing cover to see where it is actually leaking from.

x2 pull that timing cover. When you pull the lower cover, see if the bolt that goes through it and the oil pump housing is loose of missing. That could cause a leak at the oil pump to block gasket. Check other oil pump housing bolts too.

ok, I am going to check the crank seal tonight, could someone point me in the general direction of the front main seal? Also I found a leak on the hose which is beside the oil filter. Which loops from one point on the block to another. And another question, I cannot get the bolt on the starter to break free. I have tried braker bars and everything, I even soaked it in WD-40, any ideas on how to get this thing off? Thanks. Also, after I cleaned the undercarriage off at the car wash it did not smoke or lose any major amount of oil. I don't think that the leak was as bad as I thought it was, maybe that is just took a while to reach the cat and start smoking.

ok, I got the starter off and I am going to drop the pan when the gaskets/seals/bearings get here. I am going to inspect the gasket once the pan is down and see if it's broken where it appears to be leaking. I am going to reassemble it all with the new bearings and then take off the crank pulley and belt and replace the crank seal if necessary. How do I replace this crank seal? Thanks

ok, so after looking at the SHopoenixproject front 60K. My next question is : Can I remove the crank pulley without removing all of the other belts and going through the first 25 steps of the front 60k? Can I just loosen the timing belt and take the crank pulley off? I am trying to avoid as much trouble as possible here. Thanks

sounds like a lubricated mess on your hands. I have to do this to my dads car soon. His front seal is leaking slowly. Im guessing about 3 1/2 to 4 hours of work or better to do the seal change.

Best of luck to you though.
