Ok, the SHO's oil light came on, as usual and I put a quart in it. (Thurs Morning) I spilt it on the manifold b/c I had no funnel. I thought that the smoke was from that, but it kept on and the check oil light came on again this afternoon, put 2 quarts in and it just kept smoking. I get home and look underneath and on the front side of the engine, on the driveway is a puddle of oil, It had only been there for 1 minute to a minute and a half. What is going on?

When you say front side of engine, do you mean the radiator side or the timming cover side. If you talking about the radiator side check your oil filter and valve cover gasket. If you talking about the timming cover side you probably blew a front main seal or cam seal.

Instead of asking us to telepathically determine where your leak is, get under your car and look for yourself. Sounds to me like your drain plug is loose or your oil filter or oil cooler is loose.

The best thing to do is to get under it with a rag and wipe off all the oil wet surfaces. Put a broken down card board box underneath the car and maybe run the motor for a minute. That'll help a lot. Make sure it isn't coming out of the valve covers, as well.

ok, maybe this will help. front= belt side. belts and pulleys appear clean. oil pan and plug are fine. It is loosing abt. 2+ quarts an hour.
I am going under tomorrow, thanks for the sugestion though, lol, It was dark when I got home and I had a school play this evening, I am just getting home. It is running down, onto the exhaust and roasting on the cat. It is all oven the underbody, It's gonna take alot of rags. Kickoff is at 11, I guess I'm getting up early. oh and happy 100th post day to me. woohoo

maybe this will be better, I am just trying to get an idea of what to look for, I get alot of help off of this forum and I just didn't want to overlook something or spend hours looking in the wrong place or for the wrong thing. I'm sure y'all understand. Thanks and thanks in advance

It is running down on the exhaust from where you describe, cam seal? or valve cover seal, but based on the large volume most likely a cam seal gave out or front main seal

Leaking that much oil that fast suggests it may be on the pressure side of the oil system. So check the oil filter, oil cooler (filter mounts to it), and the oil pressure sensor switch (back side of engine block above the wiring connector for the oxygen sensor).

ok, It appears to be the seal on the oil pan directly underneath the crank. I'm guessing that is the crank seal. I put another 2 quarts in this morning and went down the road and game it a pressure bath on the undercarriage. I am waiting until after lunch to get under the car again and make sure that's it before we drop the pan and fix it. The longer the car runs, the more it leaks so I'm guessing that as the pan expands it just pushes that gasket out more and more. Thanks for the responses

You dont need to drop the pan to replace the crank seal. But if you are going to replace it you might want to go ahead and do the front 60k while you are in there. Here is a good write up on it.

It's unlikely that volume of oil could come out of the oil pan seal. The oil pan is not under pressure, so any leak there would be modest. There are two nearby possibilities. One is the already mentioned front crankshaft seal. The other is the oil pump to block gasket, particularly on the right hand side of it where the pump output is. Hopefully, it's the easier to fix crankshaft seal. Since it's leaking so badly, you should check to make sure that something is not causing the crankcase to be pressurized. You can do that by disconnecting the PCV hoses, a big one that comes from the V in the block and goes to the bottom of the throttle body, and a smaller one that goes from the front valve cover to the throttle body. You can also loosen the oil fill cap. If the leaking stops once you do that, then something is causing pressure to build in the crankcase and forcing oil past the seal.

The pictures show the oil pump, the aluminum colored piece bolted to the block. The crank pulley and timing belt have been removed. You can see the crank seal, it is where the crankshaft passes through the oil pump. In this photo, you can see residue from a leak at the oil pump to block gasket on the right hand side of the pump. It's not a bad leak, and you can clearly see the oil is coming from there and not the crank seal in this example.

It's going to look like the oil is coming from there no matter where it is leaking on the front side of the engine. I would pull the timing cover to see where it is actually leaking from.

It's not oily anywhere above there
I went ahead and ordered the pan gaskets/seals and rob bearings earlier.

You aren't going to lose that much oil that fast with just that gasket leaking. But its not my car or my money.
