I was just wondering if there was a temperay fix to make the oil stop going into the plug wells intell it warms up here, so I can do the 60k service. I was reading a post a couple of weeks ago and they said there is a hose you can block off to stop feeding air to the valve cover, if any body knows what im talking about can you help me a maybe post a picture or two.
thanks guys

I have an old hospital pump ...they used to suck up blood with. It works real well at suckin up the oil out of the plug wells...Makes it real quick. wink (I also used it when I changed tranny fluid...worked good for that too!!)

I will be changeing the gaskets this spring...along with new plugs/wires. thumbs_u

You can use a pump, turkey baster or push dispenser (such as from a hand soap dispenser) to suck the oil from the plug wells. You then should clean the wells of any remaing oil or grit with towels or compressed air. Use an intake cleaner spray to remove any oil residue from inside the wells. Removing the oil is dealing with the biggest concern in this situation until the seals can be replaced.

You can also apply a thin coating of silicone (RTV) to the inside diameter of the well at the mating surface of the valve cover with the head. You can see and feel the seal about 1/2" below the surface of the valve cover. Don't get sloppy with it. This should also help the seal function better until you can replace the seals. This is not a fix.
