So I have oil in my interooler that comes out around where it connects to the intake manifold. The oil got there from leaky seals in my turbo. Instead of taking out my intercooler to drain the oil, is it even feasable to just put a drain valve in the bottom of the intercooler and get the oil out that way?

A lot of people will drill a weep hole in the lower corner of the intercooler to allow for drainage. The Gearhead intercooler has a drain plug integrated, but the stock one really isn't thick enough to actually tap a plug so most just drill a small hole.

If you just want to clean it out, you can also remove the noisemaker/charge pipe, get some 3/8" hose and tape it up really good to a shop vac then fish it down into the intercooler and suck up what you can. Jacking up the driver side helps it to pool on the passenger side.

Take off the noise maker pipe. Jack the car up on the driver side and suck out anything you can is what I'd do.
I'd have to think this is a better option than an open weep hole. Some of you have expressed concerns about boost leaks at the throttle plate shaft seals which I'd think would be minimal, an uncapped hole in the CAC seems counterproductive. Oil+dirt over time is just going to get nasty where it weeps out.

Got almost a half cup out so far. Drove it around, still have oil leaking from the same place. This really bites. I can get the hose in a few feet, root it around, and locate the oil. Guess I should just leave it jacked up for a few hours. I cannot imagine that all this oil got in from just leaky turbos. My mechanic also said he vacuumed out the C.A.C. when he rebuilt my turbos with the C. R. Products CHRA's.

Anyone else have any ideas or places to check as to how oil is getting in? My mechanic is a general mechanic, doesn't specialize in Ford EB motors, if that makes a difference.

You never really know, without pulling the C.A.C. out if you got it all. I am pretty close to getting rid of it, that is how fed up I am.

Yes, I just installed a UPR catch can. Also, more oil than ever. Guess I will just have it towed to Ford, let them deal with it. Thanks for the advice.

On a side note, how do I change my signature? I don't use LMS anymore.

Car is at Ford, they are replacing the oil tubes. They dont know. Maybe it will fix it. Either way, I am done with the car. Besides the oil problem, the car runs fantastic. First $7000 takes it.

They did that "its' a bad seal in the oil tubes" thing with me. It was pointless. My oil is coming from shot turbo seals.

If I hadnt just had my turbos rebuilt, I would kinda think so too. Who knows, maybe it is. I will find out in a couple days.

Well, my car is done. Bank two turbo has a large crack, so they want to replace the turbos, they want to re seal the engine because I also have a leak on the front plate where the timing chain is, and I think the water pump. So I am going to remove the brand new UPR catch can, and anything else of value and get rid of it. But it still runs and is not too smokey.
