Well I don't really want to start another thread so I'll stick my problems in here.

I have an oil leak as well. I did an Upper 60k a month or so back because the valve cover gasket (rear one) had been leaking. Well now it seems like I might have to do a front 60k but I just want to make sure that I didn't mess up the gaskets I already did.

It seems that this leak has developed since the Upper 60k but it has slowly worsened, I'm adding a quart a week, it might be more even.

It is dripping right onto the front catalytic converter and smoking a lot from the passenger side wheel well. After looking around it looks to be the cam seals, but just in case, is there any chance it is the rare valve cover?

I've been trying to trace the leak but it so tough to see in around this engine, any suggestions for testing leaks?

How long will you be there? Coming closer to Knoxville? How much do you charge and how long does it take?

i JUST GOT all 4 front cover/cam seals. I have three that have a bonded ring/spring seals, and the last (Im assuming the rear) is the straight rubber one. i got these from ford. Let me know if that last one is right.

There are only THREE cam seals and they are all identical.

I went thought the same problem and it turned out to be the Crank Seal.
There was quiet the smoke cloud on the freeway with just a few drops of oil.
Unfortunatly it can be a PITA because you have to remove most of the timing components.
I hope it's not.:)

Mine was the cam seal also. I replaced it when I did the water pump. Was much easier to clean it all up while apart, too! It had the spring in it.

I have a major leak around my cam sensor... Would the soft rubber seal I bought be the seal for that? Why isn't there a oil seal for the rear cam? Or due to the cam seal it doesn't require one like the front four?

Thanks fellas.

There is no "front four".

There are only three cam seals as the front exhaust camshaft does protrude through the casting of the front valve cover so it does not have a seal. The other three cams (including the rear one that the CID sensor installs on) all use the exact same seal.

Plz read my previous posts completely.

If you have a different seal, post its part number or a photo so someone can figure out what you have.

Ok, I have the three front? and the Seal for behind a cam position sensor correct? Im just looking at the blow up diagram, The part number for this seal is E9DZ-6K292-A. The three others are aE9DZ-6700-A. Those im assuming are the cam seals, where the First is the oil seal for the cam sensor? Please correct me if im wrong. Is that first seal the one to replace if Im leaking at the cam Position Sensor? Thanks

Can anybody confirm the part number for the seal behind the cam sensor? Is it 6k292-A or 6700-A?
This is the seal I just pulled this morning, plenty of oil leaking under the CID sensor housing:

Well, I headed over to the Ford dealer today. They had this in stock and it appears to be exactly what I need so part # E9DZ-6700-A is the correct part.

Had the same prob. The area you have circled is almost exactly where my leak was. Turns out there was a bolt missing from my oil pump, and it was flowing from the hole. Not saying yours is this, just what mine was. Leak was proportionate to rpm, as it was directly tied to oil pressure. I realize this is an unusual cause for this problem.
