In my last post about oil leak somthing was mentioned about these being coked up. I couldn't find anything in a search. I was wondering how to solve this problem. Does anyone know or can post a link to how? Is it somthing needing cleaning or do you need to put new ones in?

Thanks

Yeah I'm a big fan of how well Auto-RX cleaned up both my 94 SHO (steady diet of QS from the previous owner) and my 95 SE, 118k with 5000 mile oil changes (all highway).

I saw great gains in fuel economy, and a much quieter running engine on both cars. My SHO's valve are is nearly perfectly clean metal 4k after using Auto-RX on it before switching to synthetic.

The creator/sellor of Auto-Rx also has a moneyback guarantee. If you don't see/feel the difference he'll refund your money. I've used 3 bottles from him in the past, and used it on my my SHO for teh engine and PS system. I'll prolly put some in my MTX come spring right before I install a drain plug. The stuff really works better than I thought, cause I was quite skeptical going into using it. But the difference on my 95 SE was amazing, like 2-3mpg improvement. It's the best $24 you'll spend. I know Paul has had some pretty good results with it too.

I'm thinking of doing a second treatment as soon as I get my AMSoil bypass filter hooked up. That will filter out ever little bit of stuff that Auto-RX cleans off.

I thought you could clean it but I was trying from the fuel, not the oil. Thanks. Do you have to get it by UPS or do auto parts stores carry it?

Don't get your hopes to high on a cleaning additive, its remotely possible that it will clean out a tincey little bit of the varnish, but not enough to make any difference or make it even look cleaner. it will not free up the stuck rings, you need to take it apart and scrape out the ring grooves. Its so densily packed in the groove & very very stuck to the aluminum. I pulled my spark plugs & poured carb cleaner in the cylinders(the good stuff not the off shelf stuff)and let it soak a week and it did nothing.

I beg to dissagree. Auto-RX works under the heat and presure of normal use. Pouring anything into the top of the cylinder in a cold engine really isn't gonna do much if it sits for a week or a year. Auto-RX works slowly while you drive taking layer by layer of buildup off. Give it a shot he's got a money back guarantee. It really works, and it will clean up your rings, unless there is physical damage to them from the buildup.

Thanks for the help. It turns out that the rings are not coked up, but due to the condition the motor was in, and because it was run that way for so long, the rings never seated. I have a couple of things to try, but it's looking like I might have to have new cross cut in the bores (honeing?)
Basically the motor is new, and never got hot enough to seat em, so when I get up in the high RPM range I get massive blowby. If I keep it under 5 grand I lose no oil. I unplugged the fan and drove it around and got it a little warmer than normal, which made a huge difference but it may be too late, I still might have to tear it apart. I'm just watching, keeping an eye on the oil and crossing my fingers for now.
