When you talk to the Ford Dealership mechanic ask if he will install "your" gaskets. Tell him (or her - sorry Bizzy) you know that many of the Ford parts for the SHO are "out of production" and "not available".

So, being the nice considerate guy that you are, you found a set of Fel-pro gaskets so the dealership does not have to have its garage space tied up for days while they try to find a set of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer - in this case Ford) gaskets.

Otherwise they will buy the set of Fel-pro gaskets, then double what they pay for them (its called "mark-up" but some call it "stick-up"), and add the labor, diagnostic fee, hazardous material disposal fee, the dealer's wife needs a mink coat fee, etc.

Seriously, if you get the Ford OEM gaskets they will be in the $300 range (or more). The same set of gaskets you get from Auto Zone (Fel-pro) for under $75. Fel-pro gaskets are a top quality product.

Clean the oil out of your plug well about once a week and start setting some money aside. This will give you time to learn more about the SHO and some of the maintanence items, and maybe time enough top find someone to help you do the job yourself. rangerj

I use Castrol's GTX motor oil, 5w-30 for winter, 10w-30 for summer, with the Motorcraft filter FL-400S. Sometimes I even use the AC delco filter. Never Fram.....

i would prolly go with the Castrol GTX high mileage..and the puralator filter or the higher end motorcraft filter...
