I hear a very faint sewing-machine noise (similiar to the mpegs on V8SHO.com). I can't tell if it's the Cams/Sprockets dyin' or not.

I'm not a mechanic. I have very basic automotive skills. Is there anyway I can tell for sure?

The only saving grace is that I'm still under the warrenty from the dealership I bought it from.

I bought it from a used car dealership. I've only had it 3 weeks and put about 300 miles on it (not my daily driver). After I drive it, I open the hood and listen to the engine specifically for that sound.

I might have difficulty in getting the Dealership to agree to take it to a Ford dealership. Any Suggestions?

I could give them the link to V8SHO.com and let them take a look.

I think I may have overeacted in a panic for a minute there....

I just again listened to the sound clips on V8SHO.com. Then had my Father (ex-ford Mechanic) and brother (mustang ******) take a listen to everything.

They seem to think it's just noisy injectors and that the sounds are different from the clips on V8SHO. After listening for a 2nd and 3rd time I would have to agree. My hearing is not what it should be. I worked at an indoor firing range for 5 years.

I still will see if the dealership will allow a certified Ford mechanic take a look at the injectors and the cams for good measure. Luckily there is a Ford dealership nearby that has done work on other SHO's...

Again I apologize if I had a panic attack..but at the cost of several thousand $$$$... I hope you all understand.

When mine started to fail, it could be heard distinctly from the cabin. However, others have failed with no warning what so ever.

close your doors and leave the radio off, if it sounds like a desiel (sp) at idle - its fine.. if it sounds like its low on oil with a rap get it to the dealer. and stay away from v8sho.com the paranoia there is redonkulous.
