well i'm back, by the 5th and 6th runs i had some consistent 61s but i'm still taking too wide of a line. i also need to get my 17x7s running, hopefully thatll help. i ran in street modified, so got my butt kicked by a guy in a civic hatch that ran 49s, but he also was the fastest car of the day. ~30 drivers, 6 passes each. once the website i found out about it on is back up i'll find official results (it got hacked), but i was pretty pleased for my first event.

to make some sense of how i fared for the first time:
even though its comparing cars and drivers, here's how i did compared to everyone else, i'm pretty sure the kid in the evo was there for the first time too.
(note this isn't in order of time or anything, but i wasn't the slowest of the day haha)

Autocross is difficult, even if you know what you're doing. I consider it much harder than road racing, actually, to do well.

There are some good driving books and some good on-line references for sorting out technique (like the Physics of Racing series). The biggest difference in time will come from tightening the nut behind the wheel, then sort out mods to the car after that.

As long as you have fun, though, time doesn't really make that much difference. Don't let anyone tell ya otherwise! :thumb:

Good work for a first time, though, especially in a Taurus.
