Someone was nice enough to read the codes on my car and found this: Cylinder bank 1, rich condition.
My O2 sensors were replaced at around 100000 kms.
My car now has 125000 kms.
Could it be just a loose connection or a faulty sensor? Wouldn't my CE light be on all the time if the sensors were bad?
He also got a code for the ambiant air temp. sensor. I assume that's the one at the bottom of the air box? How critical is this sensor? I wouldn't think that it's expensive to replace.

that sensor can cause lean conditions and yes it is critical! its cheap (i think 20 bucks) change it ASAP and let us know what happens. good luck! (ps - it is the one on the bottom of the air box)

Emerald94,

Before you put in any new sensors check the connections. Disconnect, and reconnect, the offending sensor. Check your ground conections, starting with the battery.

Then clear the codes, drive the car until it is fully warmed up and check the codes again. It is possible for an O-2 sensor to fail in 25K klicks, but it is unlikely.

If this does not solve the code saga in Mississauga get back to us. I'll see if there is a test for the sensors you mentioned. rangerj
