Quick question, i changed my o2 Sensors yesterday and while i was doing the rear one i ripped off that thermal cover that was apparently covering a pipe. Does anyone know if this is necessary to put back on and if so suggestions to secure it again. I was thinking just duct tape maybe? Thanks.

The only heat shield I would worry about down there is the stuff for the power steering rack.

The rest of it is needed so you don't catch long dry grass on fire...

id put that back on, I think that protects the ps lines and maybe the 02 wire from touching the exhaust manifold if it moves enough, if you melt that high pressure line it wont be a pretty sight. Put it this way, Ford isnt going to spend money on something they don't have to. Point being, that shield is there for a reason, it may actually keep a lot of heat out of the passenger compartment too, that may make the car very hot if thats not there in the summer, just my O2.:thumb:
