Took the car out to the strip tonight....
and to say the least I was very dissapointed....

Car ran 15.1 @93 the WHOLE night.... 10+ runs... and all were 15.1 @93. Well, the last run was 15.2@92 but still....

I was pulling 2.2 and 2.3 60's as well. But I know I could have got that down a bit too... as the track was very tight. I could not launch the car hard at all... **** I even tried to dump the clutch @ 4K the last run, but the tires hooked, and I got some clutch slippage...

I also weighed the car as well.. It came in @ 3315 with me and alittle over 1/2 a tank of gas, and the pass. seat out.

Guess I need to go through the whole car and figure out whats up.... :frown: :madflame:  :cuss:

3rd gear pull seemed to be a dog...I really cant put a definite finger on what could have been wrong.

IIRC, it was in the low 80's...

after talking to Sam about 1/8thmile stuff, it seem as if those times were suffering as well...

what altitude is the track at? i know what you mean i chased my tail trying to find out why bandito was only trapping 91, finnaly found the rear bank has alot less compression then the front bank and the cams are worn, oh well its a tired almost 200k mile 3.0 what can you do? i know what im doing im having a stage 2 PA SHO shop 3.2 built as we speak :) :) hope to have it in the car somtime in july. now to decide once and for all if i want to go with boost or NOS... hmmm decisions decisions.

i doubt its lash, we messed with lash on bandito from 1 week to the next and saw no change in MPH from loose lash to tight lash, do a compression test and see if all are pretty much the same across the board, is it a stock high miles 3.0? 900 ft is about the same as our local track and on a night with almost perfect air i could only get 91 outa my tired 3.0, area91 got 97 that same night from his daily driver with a 3.2 so i was expecting at least 93 from mine, 2 mph dont sound like much but in a 1/4 that 2 mph is a huge indicator of the power you make.

yeah, it made 191whp the last time I dyno'd it... but since then, the car got a few other things done to it... which I feel 9whp with the mods done is about right...

What are your mods to give you 9hp? Not that it matters that much.

Intake got a better port job as well as agasket matched. UDP's, high flow catback (i relize this isn't going to gain alot with a stock car, but the previous mufflers were very restrictive), and a custom air box (again, no major gains there)

did you gasket match the heads to match the intake? if not you lost hp not gained. we saw a 7mph loss once just putting a ported intake that was gasket matched onto on matched heads, putting the stock back on gained back those 7mph. the lip made so much turbulance it hindered flow alot.

ok , just wanted to make sure the heads was matched to , well other then that your in the same boat i am, sub par power levels with not a whole lot of reason for it, hope yah find out why. i am not going to worry about my 3.0 any more i have a stage two 3.2 being built to fix the problem once and for all.

Im thinking about changing the ECT out for kicks and grins...

I just put in new plugs, wires, and a coil pack... seems a bit better, but 3rd is still not pulling as hard.

I wonder if the cat's are starting to choke.... That y does have 140k on it...

Im sure you already know this... Thats not 9whp, not even close. Its still irelevant. Did you mention a stock Y-pipe?

Post up the timeslip. 2.2 second 60, and 15.1 in a top end SHO? Makes no sense.

yes I do know thats not 9whp.. but eh I feel it's close. Plus it was like 102* that day at the dyno... :nut: But seriously though... that exhaust on there was very restrictive... I do believe I picked up more than the average sho would/should have. anywho.
The y-pipe that I ran on the dyno was a custom "high flow" unit.... but a month or so later, the front banks' cat died... So I threw on a stock y-pipe... been running with the stock for some time. Even though im on the stock y, i would still think the car would trap atleast 95mph in its current condition.

what i find intresting is... my 60fts ranged from 2.2 to 2.5
here is the 2.2 run
2.29 60
6.46 330
9.8 1/8 @72.9
12.6 1000ft
15.1 1/4 @93

and here is a 2.5 run
2.59 60
6.7 330
10.0 1/8 @72.9
12.9 1000ft
15.2 1/4 @93

Looking back on the 60fts... They mainly consist of 2.3's, a couple 2.2's and a couple 2.5's... all of them ended with 15.1 @ 93
