The problem with that is the bumpers would not line up to the body cladding correctly, I think it would look strange. Unless you switched over all of that as well. Then you would just have a genII with the wrong vin ;)...

I did think about a gII on a gI though, so I could get the clear lens disco-ball headlights for a HID retro. However I decided to keep my gI fascia and get some mustang headlights for the retro...

Seen it somewhere. Think it was a gen2 SLO on a gen1 SHO? I can't remember exactly, but it was on autotrader at one time I think. Looked strange to say the least.

Well, the thing is, I just picked up this green 93 ATX car, and it runs and the body is pretty decent. It's missing the bumper and headlight panel, and it needs taillights and the plastic tail panel. I also have a 90 parts car, with all it's body parts, so I was thinking of putting the 90 nose on the 93 if it would fit.

everything front clip wise should bolt up... I've seen a gen 2 sable with a gen one Taurus front end on it before, and I've also seen a gen 2 taurus with a gen one front end. The sable I have seen driving around denver once or twice and the Taurus I saw in pics on the net. It's been a while so I can't really give any details. IIRC the body lines don't quite match, but it did work.
