92 sho 5 speed. My battery is 100% charged and in great condition, as told by autozone. My starter was replaced 1 year ago. When I turn the key to the on position my lights shine very bright, radio turns on, and things seem normal. I go to start the car and...nothing. No crank, no sound..whatsoever. The last time i drove the sho it had a real rough time starting and almost couldn't do it...but it barely did. I drove for an hour and a half straight and everything seemed fine. i stopped to get gas and it wouldn't turn back on. A guy getting gas next to me tried jumping me but no success. I then said he could push my car with his truck to do a rolling start...success started right up. I get home fine after another hour and a half drive but no start. Can you guess my issue?

Try another battery, even a small one from something else.
Also look at the battery cable ends, are they original or do they have retofit ends on them. If they are retrofit ends, take them off and clean them and the wire.
Next stop is the solenoid, see if you can short it out to deliver full battery to the starter motor.
Last stop is the starter motor itself, you will have to take it off and have it checked.
My guess is battery or the cable ends.

Battery cables. Check for corrosion/deterioration at both ends of both cables.

^ This first. My 89 has original cables with original terminals. Half the time the car won't start (but everything lights up) and I have to get under the hood with some pliers and clamp down on the terminals and wiggle them around for it to start. I'm going to saw off the old ends and get some of the cheapy parts store crimp on terminals for now.

I had this exact problem. Check to see if that signal wire is still attached to the starter solenoid. If it is still connected check the spade connector for corrosion. If none is found, have someone crank the car while you smack the starter. If it starts, replace starter.

Starter solenoid. Pull the starter and have it tested if you can jump it by hooking the battery right to the starter and see if it does 2 things, spins AND pushes the gear out wards in-gauging it with the flywheel.

Unless the little wire has fallen off the spade connector, your 1 year old starter has failed. Maybe it has a LLT warranty and you can get a replacement at no charge.

whenever I had those symptoms, it was a bad starter. I'd pull that and have it checked out - my guess is the solenoid is dead or the motor has shorted.
