Title says it, no spark. I was driving last night and the car died... I replaced the coil pack, DIS and ECU but still nothing, anyone ever hear of this happening and have any suggestions as to what it might be? All help is appreciated.

Run the codes, that will give you a place to start. I would bet its your Crank Position Sensor or your DIS module on the side of the intake.

well there only a few things that can control the spark
CID,CPS,coil pack,DIS,ECU,plugs,wires,battery....so if its none of theses make sure your ground straps are connected properly.....especially the one on the rear of the intake!

yeah, all of the pinpoint tests are pointing to a ground issue, but I can't seem to find a bad one.

Basically, the resistance form the DIS ground wire to the negative battery terminal is supposed to be less than 5 ohms, but when I measure it, it is 8 ohms. If there was a break in the system somewhere, the resistance should be infinity not just a few ohms more. Anyone have thoughts on this? Does this wire have a fusable link in it somewhere?

Thanks for all the help...

Divide the ground circuit into sections. Measure each. If your meter is accurate, that is far too much resistance. Make certain there is no power int he circuit at the time as that will distort resistance readings.

In the last week, I helped another forum member diagnose a Crank/No start SHO. Find that thread either here or in the Emergency forum..

this happened to me after doing a water pump, cps, replacement. The problem was that I put the crossover tube ( one with dis ) and only held them with the rubber boots. It needs to bolt down, to give ground to the DIS. Don't forget to bolt down the crossover tube.

There was no power when I took the measurement.

how would I divide the ground into sections?

Thanks...

In looking at the wiring diagram, I am seeing an ignition control module, is the the DIS or is it something else?

Thanks,

Glen
