Standard is what you would use if the crank has never been turned before. Standard will work if your crank isn't too eaten up.
If it is a little "chewed" you would need to get the crank turned.. when they remove material, you need "oversized" bearings to take up the space left by the smaller crank.
If its been turned before is when you would need oversized bearings. If you have another car to drive for a while, pull the pan and see what you have in there. "Boat"s old motor had .75 bearings in it... already been turned, and if another set of 75's didn't work, well its done.. time for a new crank.
We were going to do those before he wrecked his car... and more than likley, we would have had some standard bearings, only to find out his crank had already been turned.. like someone already spun a bearing in the car.
For unknown reasons like that.. its good to see whats in there..
