Do you have the factory system installed or an aftermarket? What as the reason everything fried? Did you say you checked the fuses?

Hard to determine without these answers.

As I recall when I went down there he had had a problem with a very bad short. Fried tons of stuff on his car. There is power to the head unit, he checked the head in another car and it did work. There's no power getting to the speakers. Amps I'm not sure about, he said he'd disconnected them when I was there. But he's since bypassed them. I'm pretty good with electronic stuff in the car and it baffled me. I think that perhaps when his car got fried that it shorted out the wiring from the head to the speakers.

He's getting the "noise" when the amps turn on so it would seem that there's power to them just from reading his post. Perhaps the wire harness is wired wrong to the speakers. In any case, it sucks really bad when you're driving down the road with no tunes. Been there, done that...

94ShoATX--I sure hope somebody can help you out soon. I feel for ya! Were you going to have the insurance take care of the re-wire for ya? I personally think that's what it's gonna take.

Didn't they cover a bunch of other stuff on your car cause of the short circuit? Hmmmm.....Maybe I'm confusing your problem with somebody else's.
