  im looking at a 93 atx sho thats in over all,as far as looks are concerened, seems to be in very nice shape.the owner says he had an issue with the altinator, purchased a new unit and installed and had a problem with that one as well.he went to where he had purchased it they told him it must have been a bad one than exchanged it.he said it did work but seemed to have an issue with the battery, most likely was just running on the batttery at one piont, than told me it runs rough like an air fuel prob.i saw the car and had to stop and look,(wasnt shown as for sale) said hes wiliing to sell but stated the prob to me and he said he gave up.the car has been sitting for 1yr give or take and when we blth looked at it today hooked up a jump there was no power what so ever, inside or out no spark when attaching cables his jump box reads good and im curious??what coul this be?there is no alarm, the fuses check out but i did notice a small wire that seemed to be hanging from the power terminal, and saw nothing lower that it could attach to. the ar is really nice right color just sad its an atx oh well.but i have a 94 atx that would be perfec for parts.any suggestions?besides replacin the battery?what would cause this otherwise??thanks for any imput from all.thanks again.

That "small wire" going from the negative terminal is the ground wire for the ECU. If it's not going back to the computer, that's why it won't start. That wire really needs to be attached to the computer, that's why it goes straight to the battery as opposed to any other ground point. it's kind of important. Go from there... and yes, you probably need a new battery too. Check to make sure both plugs are attached to the alternator, a 3 wire plug near the top and a large wire (B+), black w/ red stripe, that goes onto a stud on the back of the alternator. If they aren't both there, the alternator will not charge. The running rough is probably the Idle Air Controller (IAC). that is reponsible for more rough running at idle than any other part. If it runs rough at all speeds, I would suspect plugs/wires. After that, a fuel pump.

Hey there I had an issue where the connection on the solenoid was bad and there was no power going to the car because of that .... You never know just my 2 cents....
