I run straights on my 93 ATX it's very loud calls a lot of attention which I like haha but the cops never bothered me. It's awesome sounding VERY loud. What I did was cut the old rotted mufflers off when i just bought it (I couldn't afford new mufflers at the time lol) and just ran straight pipes right back with a 3" outlet. It sounds so good I decided to keep them and I feel that it goes much faster from a start.

its too damn loud
imho you can get very loud with using some mufflers, and deleting the resonator...... but it will sound nicer then no mufflers at all.......

If you've ever laughed at a "Ricer" because of the way their exhaust sounded dont do it!
I ran my ATX without mufflers for about a month and it was loud, the rasp under 4k was ******** but it did sound good at about 6k. I got pulled once for it and bought some summit turbo flow ****'s. Still sounds good and not nearly as loud.

If you want to reproduce the sound:
1. Eat beans
2. Eat more beans
3. Wait 1 hour
4. Insert tape into tape recorder
5. Hook up mic to tape recorder
6. Press record
7. Fart into microphone, make sure you catch all the high pitch ones
8. Continue farting for as long as you'll be driving the car
9. Play back farts on huge speakers at max volume
10. Change your mind about running a V6 SHO without mufflers
1. Eat beans
2. Eat more beans
3. Wait 1 hour
4. Insert tape into tape recorder
5. Hook up mic to tape recorder
6. Press record
7. Fart into microphone, make sure you catch all the high pitch ones
8. Continue farting for as long as you'll be driving the car

i had an exhaust leak from not having the right gasket between the y pipe and the exhaust and it was loud as F**k , i didnt mind it but very raspy in the low rpm's, it sounds badass on the high way doing about 110 in 4th ( i had to pass my buddy i saw on the highway .......Ricer flyby

Do the stock mufflers have much back pressure?
Wait till you have kids someday and your neighbor does that to his car and comes home late every night, you have to deal with your kid waking up every time he starts it.
