I rarely drive my sho hard. But when I do go full throttle the car seems to almost stop reving. At half throttle it accelerates fine. But when I put it full out, it doesn't accelerate, it just stays at the same rev's. The plugs and wires have not been replaced for a while and the fuel pump has never been replaced and my car has 150,000 km. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Possibly your Throttle Position Sensor. I think that this could cause a problem like that. If it is not that, then take a look at your possibly gas related.

Try reving your car in neutral, slowly and steadily up to the higher rev limits. See if there are any dead spots in the pedal movements. If there is, try replacing the TPS. It is cheap. Try goosing it in neutral also. See what happens.

Ontario also. I got it for $1250 shipped to my doorstep. It was a good deal, I'm not denying that, but the people that I got it from was A&L auto wreckers (I think) and the guy I dealt with was Lee. I am really not going to recommed them because when I forst talked to him, he said that the engine that I was buying had 4 cyls SHOing 200 PSI comp with the other two around 185. When I got it, I tested it (After puting it in the car) that it had most of them SHOing between 170 and no higher than 180. I don't know what had happened, but that was just what he said and on the bill it showed that it had 180 comp.

Are you searching car-part.com? Do a search for engines there. That's what I did and talk to the guys about shipping. Some will, some won't. Do it at your own risk. Play them against each other. Say that you have one other guy that will sell it to you for *** $'s and you want to know if they will match or beat the price. Try it. Internet is great for that.

Good Luck. Just make sure that you get everything in writing and that there will be some sort of recourse in case you get a bum motor.

I have experienced the same problem in the last week as well. When it does this, let off and punch it again and see if it helps. First thought for me when this happened was teh TPS, but I haven't gotten around to changing it.

It sounds to me like either a fuel supply restriction (weak fuel pump or plugged fuel filter) or restricted exhaust system (plugged catalytic converters).

You might also want to really check the plugs and wires. When you go WOT, it takes a lot of juice to keep the engine going, if it is not making it through the wires or plugs, it will hesitate. Nothing like a good old fashion tune up. :D

check and check.

I know I have fuel line problems, and the cats on my car are getting old. And my exhaust is patchwork right now.

Someone call the car and $** once. They weren't kidding.

I have a similar problem. Say I'm about to pass someone, and go down to second gear (at maybe 15mph), then go WOT, I really take off. But if I'm in a parking lot doing idle in 1st, then go WOT, I seem to accellerate much more slowly. The point is, my SHO seems to go slower at WOT. Of course this could just be that passing is in a tighter area at a higher speed, so it seems like I'm accellerating faster.
