I was thinking of picking up 4 Nitto 450 225/55/16s for my stock Slicers. Anyone have any stories to tell about the 450s? They seem to be a decent tire, 45k mile warranty, 80 bux a tire. Will the 225/55/16 be ok for the slicers? I want a beefy look.

Thanks in advance.

Good tire for the $$. They wear well, have decent grip (nothing great) but ok for the street. Pretty good in the rain.

I run these on my 89 for street/hwy duty, to and from the track :)

I have the Nittos on my OEM Gen 3 rims in a 225/50 size. Great all around, all year tire but not a good snow tire.

I also have the Kumhos 712s 245/45/16s on 7.5" rims. They are the best rain tire I've ever had (better than SZ50s). Good enough for both the street and auto-x track. Not a winter tire though.

The Kumhos are what's on my car in the sig pic. I don't like to spend more than a $100 a tire. :)

if you go to www.tirerack.com you can compare tires. the Sumitomo HRT+'s look the bet bang for buck to me. they have better grip than the kumhos better everything except price better ride grip life everything. for only $9 more per tire

I am running the Sumitomo HRT+'s in 225x50x16 form. They would be an excellent choice for an all season tire. I have auto-x with them two times and was very suprised as to how well they performed.

They are also very good in the rain as well. I can't comment on there snow performance as I have yet to use them in the snow. But hey, that's what my Blizzacks are for wink
