I was wondering, since you always hear people saying how NOS blew my motor. What things does Nitrous really effect? Obviously you have to make it so it can get more fuel into the motor, bigger fuel pump, bigger injectors, tuning, colder plugs, the right tuning. But what inside the motor does Nitrous hurt, not meaning say your running a big shot of nitrous and it causes you to throw a rod because you didn't have forged piston rods.

Thanks for any replys.

Generically the rings get the most damage, they expand and gall the cylinder wall and sometime seize, this may cause piston ring lands to crack.

The extra heat can also cause detonation that may blow a hole into the top of a piston or just take out the ring lands.

Most rod failures come from too much RPM, people trying to make power by spinning the motor faster. With N20 or forced induction you can make decnet power at normal rpms, the rods tend to stand up to the load in "compression" better than one trying to be streched ( tension ) from spinning a motr too high.
