What parts need to be up to par or upgraded to run say...a small amount of n2o, say 50hp effectively and safely.

To run a 50 shot safly you need to change your spark plugs to copper plugs that are 1 degree colder. They are about $1/piece at autozone, etc.

Change those and hook the n2o up correctly, and your ready to roll.

People have been running 75 HP shots with just changing plugs and doing just fine. I have read with a 100 shot, things start getting a little hairy...injectors and fuel pump start having trouble keeping up as well as straining the diff pin and axels.

(I have been wanting n2o for some time...just got to buy me a kit. Zex kit #82011 is recommended and works well with the car with an easy install.)

Go ahead and get the zex dry kits. Its the easiest to install in our cars.

I've been running a 75 shot for awhile. No quaife, stock clutch.

As long as you are doing WOT launches you will be fine.

SHOMurph, thankks for the tip, ive been reading for a few hours last night and yes, the zex seems to be the safest bet. What do you mean by- "As long as you are doing WOT launches you will be fine." Did you mean, as long as I am NOT? lol.

One more thing. What is this purge thing that i tried searching on? Purge light? Also, what else is needed to run the NOS (even if its a small shot) safelly? I heard of a heater? What do all these things do?

Once again, thanks for your reply bud.

yeah really nobody in a SHO should be doing WOT launches if they care to keep the car running KABOOMMM!

You don't really need a purge. Its to get the air out of the line so your nitrous is ready to hit. Its a so-called "cool" factor to show everyone you have nitrous on a street car.

A heater will be good if you live in the north. Warmth keeps the bottle pressure up.

I would also upgrade your fuel pump to at least a 190lph.

Would the 190pump be necessary even for a small small shot? I also heard that it is a good idea to replace your fuel filter as well?

So, since I have a 255 lph pump, and a quaife, I could do some 5k+ launches, right? [If only I could get it started]

The bottle heater is going to keep the bottle warmer for better pressure. Nitrous express has come out with something that has a heater and a cooler on it to keep the pressure exactly where it should be.

has anybody used a NX wet kit with the SHO?? I have a kit with all the accessories that I bought to put on my focus, and never got finished installing it. I can't really afford to go out and buy a new kit. Would this work safely?? Or does the intake have too many bends for it to work well?

BTW I have the full throttle switch, RPM window switch, bottle heater, purge, A/F ratio guage, and all the other little goodies ;)

I guess I could just try to get all the parts to do the direct injection. I"ve tried to sell this kit but haven't been able to find any buyers :(

I've still got my intake manifold with the Pro Fogger kit installed. It's pilled for about 130hp and needs a new home.

First $500 takes it. I'll even include the shipping.

whoops...yes AREN't.

The front end suspension of the Taurus isn't made for heavy RPM launching to be effective.
