nitrous spark plug question.

I know that I have to go with copper plugs after installing my nitrous kit but has anyone tried the plugs Zex offers? I am not looking forward to changing my plugs that often so I am hoping there is another plug I can use.

The copper 3923 Plugs will last a good 10,000 Miles without much hassle.

I have heard of a few people running around with small (50-75) shots on stock plugs... Someone correct me if I am wrong about this.

You can buy 3923's at wal-mart for 99 cents a piece.
why risk burning up your motor over $ 6?

I'm not sure if you read my first post. I know I need to go with the 3923 but I found plugs on the Zex website that are supposed to be used with nitrous systems and I was curious if anyone on here has tried them or if there is another plug out there that will last longer than 10,000k without killing my motor.

Changing spark plugs takes all of 30 min with taking the intake manifold off, less if you don't (which you don't have to). Take a few minutes out of the day, once maybe twice a year and change them. An hour max (including the run to the auto store) and you have new plugs in your motor.

If you don't want to change your spark plugs often then just run platinum plugs and no nitrous.

Your post was of no help at all. Everything you said I already know and if you can't answer my question don't post in my thread.

It was a simple question and if there isn't a plug out there that will go 60k-100k on nitrous then I have no problem using the copper plugs but I also don't mind spending more money on plugs that will last longer than 10k if there is such a plug.

The only plugs Ive ever heard of are the copper ones. Did you try calling/emailing Zex to get some info on their plugs/ They could probably provide you with the needed info to compare them to the coppers.

That's actually the smartest idea I have ever heard. You definitely don't have to pull the plugs anyway to check gap and condition every few thousand miles.

I hope this does not take away my Thanks, But a simple answer would be no. There is no plug out that i would trust more than 10k.

Iv been running nitrous for a long time and for me i would not trust a plug more than 8k. But thats just me. :)

I saw that Zex offered a plug for nitrous applications, I contacted them and I am waiting on a response. It's weird they offer only one plug but it fits many cars and some of those cars use the same plug as the SHO so maybe I will be the first to try the Zex plugs. My motor has high mileage so if it goes it needs to be replaced anyways so I am not too concerned with that, it will give me something to do this winter.;)

Well then you have a plan, But I dont think i would toast a sho motor for something to do. Just sayin. :)

Let's say I toast my motor, then I can remove the toasted motor, have my engine bay cleaned up and painted, then I can put in a lower mileage 3.2 and do a 5 speed swap. Just saying.:evilgrin:

Chances are I won't toast my motor though.

When I used NOS, I used cheapest plugs from Autozone which were 1-2 degrees cooler and forbid any platinum once. The more I used NOS, the sooner I had to change plugs. And I never had to take intake manifold off to change plugs. The hardest part was to change 2 plugs in the back of the engine(extra 10-15 min). COme on!!!!!!!!! Are you that lazy to spend 30-40 min to change your plugs? Or maybe screw around with the engine is easier?
