Hello, i'm new to the SHO world, but not new to the forum world.

I just bought my SHO yesterday.

Its a 1997 White, tan leather, 6 disc changer, heated mirrors, and the other bells & whistles with 72k.

Problem: Every so often, i'll hear a motor turning under the hood, and when i hit the brake pedal, it'll pulsate. not all the time, but once in a while.

I ran searches and found that ABS modules were a problem in these cars, do i have the symptoms of a bad ABS system??

BTW, i'll be welding the cams sometime this month.

Thanks guys

Pulsing pedals is probably cause by uneven brake pad deposits on the rotor causing high spots. This is usually caused by cheap pads.

That's most likely the ABS not working properly. A high failure item in these cars. That will give both the motor noise and a pulsating pedal.

should i pick up a ABS motor, or module, or both??

are they common on ebay, or hard to find??

can i just unplug the ABS harness, and plug back in for inspection time?

You can pull the ABS fuse when the car is off and it will shut down the ABS completely. This is in the under the hood fuse box.

If you throw the fuse away you will get a bit more performance due to lightening the vehicle.... :)

great, but will the car function any differently?? (besides the ABS not working)
The car will function properly. The brakes will lock up vs correct pulsating braking under hard use. Just like pre-abs cars.

snow just started falling so, i'll leave the fuse in for a week, till the snow stops, then i'll take it out.

BTW. what causes the ABS motor to spin on its own, is it worth rebuilding the ABS module?, is it a bad relay?, bad ABS motor?, if i buy a remanuf. one, will it go bad as well?
