thought i'd show everyone what my LSE rims look like on the sho mounted properly. of course i had the adapters made wrong, *****! :snicker: but i had them fixed at work this week so i can finally try them out. only problem now is i cannot find a lug nut for them. jees, if its not one thing its another. these rims are just not supose to be on this car. :laugh_ti: they are a short shank style rim but the adapters have longer studs in them for regular acorn type rims. so i'm on the hunt for long short shank lug nuts. :nut: but they do fit on the car!! finally. :thumb: so here be the pics. i've not ever seen a sho with 255's on it before so maybe mines the first!

they came with the rims and i really wanted to keep them. overkill sure but should be nice with the s/c that on the shelf in the garage. nope no rubbing, i designed them that way. they are a 60mm offset rims and i had an adapter made to put them right at 35mm. there is about a half finger between the strut and the tire, plently of room. no on the outside, that is a whole other issue. i can't even get my finger between the fender and the tire, just no room. but i'll have that fixed when painted. thanks for the compliment.

Looks great! I can't wait to see the finished project. :dribble:

On a side note, can't you either machine or grind the lugs down to the proper length? Might be easier then finding oddball lug nuts.

(not permanately as the pbr's still have to go on.) any ways on to the pics!

oh forgive the missing lugs in the rear. the rest of them are in the back of my fathers car, forgot to get them out.. whooops.

I love it! I had 245's on the front of my 95 for awhile (couldnt get them to clear the struts in the rear even with 1/4" spacers). I love the way wide tires look on SHOs, mine stuck out in front just like yours did but to me it just looked more aggressive.

Great looking Gen1 :thumb:

Good luck going over dips in the road. Those things there will rub constantly. I already see an issue in the rear. I don't think rollin' the fenders will help that either.

Anyhow, looks good though. I definetly like the side shot of it. BTW, I was going with the same wheels... the lug nuts you'll need are from a late model Toyota Camry.

I ended not keeping em, seeing that I hate adapters.

Good luck!

yeah these are the rare 2002 Lincoln LSE wheels which are 17x8 with a 60mm offset. no way they where going to fit without adapters. the lugnuts would have been a non stock item. the adapters have a 1/2-20 stud in them are are too long. what i did was just cut them down so the 1/2 lug nuts i bought would fit. i see no problems using adapters that are made correctly. these are both hubcentric to the wheel and car. trust me, the rear fenders will be flared if nothing else and will not rub once i'm done.

thanks for a the compliments guys. maybe one day this POS will be finished. i need to stop making projects for it, but hey i want it to be my custom, rare, and unique sho. it's been a lot of fun building custom stuff for it! and thats all that matters.

you. They just dont look right. Like you said, they just dont belong on the SHO.

The rims themselves are nice looking, just not on that car. your probably destroying the cars ride quality with the wheels being spaced out so much.

what i said was in light of the fact i've had so many problems getting them on the car. no one said they don't belong, and i am in love with them to tell ya the truth. they are just the right look i was going for. yes they stick out proably about 2-3 mm farther then i accounted for in the front but i like it. they where design to fit within the stock SHO offset for a rim that wide. 17x8 with a 35mm offset. other folks on here have rims in that spec. they stick out because of the 255's. destroying the ride quaility i am not, giving more meat to the the Supercharger i am..
