Newbie here..... I just set my livernois tuner up on my 13 sho. This comes with the cold air, new thermostat and 3 BAR map. My question is upon vehicle startup. The idle was extremely rough and when I shift into reverse it literally slammed into reverse. Same condition going into drive along with a sluggish Trans. I am being told that this is normal. Is it??

That does not sound anywhere near normal to me. A bit firmer shifts at first but not SLAMMING into gear upon engagement. I am confused, though. Thread title says Unleashed but your post says Livernois. Also, are you sure you installed the 3 bar sensor in the correct place?

Hmm...After the reflash did you do the idle relearn procedure?

Courtesy of a post by SHOdded...

When the battery is disconnected or a new battery is installed, the
automatic transmission must relearn its shift strategy. As a result,
the transmission may exhibit a combination of firm and soft shifts.
This operation is considered normal and will not affect function or
durability of the transmission. Over time, the adaptive learning process
will fully update transmission operation. To begin this process:
1. With the vehicle at a complete stop, set the parking brake.
2. Put the gearshift lever in P (Park), turn off all accessories and start
the engine.
3. Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.
4. Allow the engine to idle for at least one minute.
5. Turn the A/C on and allow the engine to idle for at least one minute.
6. Drive the vehicle to complete the relearning process.
• The vehicle may need to be driven to relearn the idle and fuel trim
strategy.
• Note: If you do not allow the engine to relearn its idle trim, the idle
quality of your vehicle may be adversely affected until the idle trim is
eventually relearned.

Oft asked question, did you replace the correct MAP sensor, the one on top of the intake manifold? You probably did, just getting that out of the way. If the system has to guess at values, that could be an issue.

Do you have the sensor that attaches to the intake (near the filter area) hooked up and tight?

Good point as usual SHOdded.

I think there have also been some cases of people getting the wrong MAP sensor. I believe the part number on the sensor itself needs to end in AB. At least, that's what I hope since that's the one I bought. LOL

As a package deal from livernois. I received the cold air intake, 3bar map and 170 thermostat. This also includes tuner 3 tunes.

They should send out a picture of the location every time they send out a 3 bar MAP sensor. So much easier :)

Circled in red in below pic

Where do I add the 3 BAR Intake Manifold

Technically there is a 3 bar MAP already on the engine, and it sits just before the clamp on the pipe feeding into the throttle body. You can see it clearly in the pic, vertical to the pipe.

My memory may be fuzzy, but I believe there were reports of some people also receiving the wrong sensor from one of the vendors. That's why I mentioned the AB part.

I also recall instances of a vendor supplying a tune for 2 bar despite being told the car would be running a 3 bar.

So strange to me that Ford elected to use one 2 bar and one 3 bar on the same motor. The Focus ST and F150's have only 3 bar sensors.

I've flashed mine like 4 times now and never had this issue! Nothing to do with LMS. Hope the previous posts help you.
