I have had TSB. 11.5.6 completed & that has taken care of the " clunking " while shifting etc.

But a new problem has cropped up , every once in a while on hard acceralation it feels like its in 2nd gear. I talked to my dealer & he said I'm not the only one with this problem .

The service manager said a TSB on this issue should be submitted to the dealers , however he hasn't heard anything yet .

Let me say once again this is a peroidic problem so some of you fellows might have overlooket the issue.

I am having the same problem and will be curious to see if they fix your issue. I can make it happen every time when I manually downshift into 2nd gear, but only happens every so often under normal driving conditions. I need to get mine in ASAP before the powertrain warranty runs out. I'll update once I do.

I am having the same issue when downshifting with paddle shifters from 3rd to 2nd...not all the time. It still makes it even after 11-5-6 TSB... Please let us know if there is a TSB...
Thanks!

I'm not sure I follow you. Are you saying that when you accelerate hard from a stop, it feels sluggish as if it was in 2nd gear? Are you in manual mode, and you select 2nd instead of 1st? Seems like I remember if you are in manual, it automatically goes to 1st when you stop.
I know that Subaru has a 'snow mode' that locks out 1st when you have the auto in 'L'. Supposed to give you better traction, etc. Maybe this is what's happening...
I'll mess around with manual mode and see if I can replicate this too.

When I downshift from 3rd to 2nd on manual mode, sometimes it still makes a clunk... even after TSB 11-5-6.

FROM A DEAD STOP & I stand on it while in auto its feels very sluggish, like its in 2nd gear. Other times it feels like 1st & burns rubber. Thats about as clear as I can get .

I don't think that TSB 11-5-6 targets this downshifting clunks (which i have experienced manual shifting from 2-1). This TSB seems to address a slipping, sluggish, clunking (what i would call snatching) event which occurs during acceleration from a slow roll. I thought that the downshift clunks were more likely related to the transmission range sensor?

If you are experiencing sluggishness and wheel spin (burning rubber) then maybe there is a problem with the AWD doo-hickey. Sometimes the computer senses all the wheels are spinning (when they are not) and cuts power and other times it doesn't realize that the wheels are spinning so it allows full power.

Try turning off traction control?

There is also a "Fail Safe" in the programming that will cut power if there is odd wheel spin, ie. 2 wheels spinning noticeably faster that the other two. This cannot be turned off, as it protects the AWD system.

I have not had any TSB's done on my tranny, and have only experienced clunking when I reverse, and shift into "D" before I am completely stopped going backwards.

I have had the loss of power issue, when I have power braked at too high an RPM.

Tranny does have a tune, as part of Torrie's original tuning package. Also, when I was running Livernois Stage 4 tune, I never had any tranny issues. Brick shifted similar with both aftermarket tranny tunes, as far as I could tell.

Just had the TSB done. So far so good on the clunk, but it didn't happen a lot anyway. New Ford calibration seems better though.
