Good morning Guys and Gals,
I am in need of some help with my car. It is a 2015, SHO, the car is new to me. It has been modded to have a single turbo and Alky system. Seem to have been done well, built by Auto-Motion in Louisville. On the test drive the car performed well. Nothing doing out of the ordinary. Get the car home, different story.

Now that i have the car home I get a code for cam position sensor bank 2, as well as an O2 code same bank.

I also have a random misfire from time to time. Seems to be whenever it rains. It will be through out all 6 cyl in the computer.

I love the car!! just have a few issues that need to be worked out.

Who is a good computer programmer for our cars? I was told the variable timing was locked out by the current program. I have not plugged the programmer into the car yet to see what is on it or how it works. It is merely a black box with 4 buttons.

Thanks for your help,

Jay

Welcome to the SHO family! I can't give you any advice on the problems you're having with the single turbo setup, however, I think I recently saw the car you picked up in a Facebook post. That turbo looked sweet!

I had been looking for awhile for a SHO. When I saw this one I knew it was the one. I felt a little confident as I have a Turbo Buick and same principle applied. Single turbo and alky. This car is very nice.
I dont know the problems are related to the turbo set up as maybe some other issue going on?

Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome! Most tuners for the SHO will use SCT or MyCal devices, but on "standard" SHOs. Sounds like some changes have been made to your SHO that will require custom programming, which may or may not be possible without intensive effort. The easiest route is to contact the company that made these mods in the first place.

Good Morning Guys,

Thanks for the welcome. So.. I talked to the builder of the car. Nice guy.. Had lots of things to say about the car. It is a one off build, no expense was spared in the build. It is putting 500hp to the ground!! Got the CEL figured out. The misfire should be easily corrected.
As far as the programmer, Auto-Motion did it themselves. They have good results with the EcoBoost in the trucks so he transferred that knowledge into the car and got the 500 out if it. Kevin was telling me about the built in safety features he built into the car and motor and computer to keep it from blowing itself up that I kinda wish I had them in my Turbo Buick, lol.

Anyhow, as soon as I figure out how to upload pics from my phone I will get them up.

Thanks guys.

Did he update the trans or ptu in any way? Those are choke points for this powertrain. Should be fine at 500, but needs a strict maintenance regimen.

Maintenance would be at least every year change PTU fluid, at least every two years change the RDU fluid. More frequently if you frequently lay into the throttle. Dont fall for the extended engine oil change interval routine. You need a superior oil and filter to do that. Transmission fluid drain/fill at least every year. Coolant flush at least every 5 years/60,000 miles. Keep an eye on plug gap growth as well. May not last the 100k ford says they should.
