new sub and sub amp; factory speakers

I am putting in a kicker 8" DVC sub in place of stock and I am going to power it with a 150 rms jbl amp. Also i am putting a new head unit, should i run the stock speakers with the head unit or with the factory amp?

any comments/ suggestions?

Try both .... It depends how many watts the head unit is putting out compared to the watts of the factory amp. No matter what you will still be able to conrtol the bass/treble.

the head unit has 50 watts x 4 peak 22 x 4 rms, what does the factory amp push?

I do believe that factory amp pushes 20 X 4 max....or something close to it. I notice a BIG difference when I used the amp in my head unit (45 X 4 max) thumbs_u

with the head unit, do you get any distortion at higher levels?
