Ok guys, what is the the best/cheapest route to go if getting new struts? Is OEM the way to go or aftermarket? What aftermarket brands are available? What's involved in installing the aftermarket inplace of the OEM electronically controlled units? Thanks! :hail: :thumb:

It's either OEM at about $150 each or KYB G2s and loose the SARC.

If you put Eibachs on then you need to take the SARC sensors in front, swap sides and turn them upside down or run with them disabled and full hard. If you don't want to lower it I would stay away from the Eibachs.

Best = OEM. No contest there. No one makes performance struts for the Gen 3-4 Taurus, so even if you lose the SARC, there just aren't any better struts out there that will fit. :( The OE SARC are damn good struts, though (just expensive as heck).

Cheapest = KYB GR-2. Sure there are cheaper struts out there, but the GR-2s are about as cheap as you can go without entering the realm of absolute crap.

I just bought new SARC struts, mounts, and bearings for the front of my SHO. I used all OE parts and the grand total was about $425 with shipping. I'll be doing the labor up to the point of alignment, at which point the professionals take over. :thumb:
