Well.....after weeks of inconspicuously trolling around here, I finally decided to take the plunge and introduce myself. I'm the new owner of a '14 SHO PP, in my favorite color (Ruby Red Metallic). After owning a '13 Ford Edge Sport for a little over a year, I came to the conclusion that my life needed an HP boost.....at least that's how I justified the purchase to my wife. Although I'm no stranger to modified vehicles (prior to the Edge, I owned an '07 Jeep SRT8 with a 440 HEMI pushing 600 HP at the wheels), I don't plan to take the SHO to such drastic means. Although I've been quite satisfied with the SHO these past few weeks, as it's proven to be a nice compromise between the Edge and the SRT8, the mod bug has hit and I've been reading up to see what's available for some additional HP. From what I've found, Livernois seems to run the gambit on tuning and minor upgrades for the SHO, and they're reputable in the HEMI world as well. Their SHO upgrade packages seem to be well-suited to the new owner, with a decent power output, so I'm leaning in that direction.
Now that I've got the compulsory intro out of the way, I have a few noob questions that I'm hoping some of the more seasoned owners can help me out with:
1. Do any other companies besides Livernois offer similar all-inclusive upgrade packages for the SHO? And if so, how do they stack up?
2. Are there any competent installation shops in the northern VA area that anyone knows about? I was told that EcoInjection in Elkton, MD is reputable, but I'd rather not have to drive 3+ hrs if I could avoid it.
3. Are there any DC area SHO clubs? The SRT meet-&-greets were a blast.....hoping to find some local SHO owners and talk car sh*t!
Aside from all the above, are there any other tips or suggestions as a new SHO owner I should be aware of? I look forward to learning more about the SHO and hopefully some of you as well. For the picture ****** out there, I snapped a few quick ones as soon as I made the 4-hr drive from the dealership. Yes, it was a hike, but it was worth it for the deal I got! Enjoy!
