Hey guys, long time Ford Owner here. Ive had 3 Mustangs, a Focus, a Fusion, and now a 2011 Taurus SHO.

What are the 1/4 time differences between the Performance Package and the Non PP. I'm assuming it would be the same whether it was stock or modded. About how quicker is the PP in the 1/4

Second, I have a 7yr 100k powertrain warranty from Ford.
When tuning these cars, if something was to go wrong and I have to take it in and put the tune back to Stock, are they going to be able to tell and give me issues?

Thanks, and looking forward to talking with you guys. I'm from the NJ area and am looking to get over to Englishtown Raceway soon!

Welcome to SHOforum, we do need pix to confirm your blue oval loyalty :)

It is somewhat controversial whether the PP has 1/4 mile advantages over the non-PP. 60' yes, 0-60 maybe, 1/4 mile, ummmmmm ... The primary advantage of the PP resides in the braking, handling, and trans/oil cooling, generally with the compromise of losing the ACC.

Have you owned the 2011 since new, that is, are you familiar with its' behavior & history? If so, I wouldn't worry about the tune, as long as you go with reputable/experienced EB tuners like Unleashed & Livernois. Even though Ford can ultimately tell whether you have tuned the vehicle or not, 99% of the time, they don't really care. If you blow up the engine (happens occasionally) or transmission, you would give them a reason. I would suggest that before you tune, you do any required maintenance so the SHO is in tiptop shape to adjust to the new parameters, esp. if you plan to track it. Spark plugs, turbo clamps, knock sensor wires, PTU fluid, etc.

Hope you can meetup with fellow SHO owners in the NY/NJ area. Plenty of Gen I/II owners there also for sure.
