Ok when I turn on my a/c at high rpm's it has a Loud squeal and then when the rpm's drop down low (coming to a stop) it kills the engine if I dont run the a/c the car runs great.

So could this be a belt issue?
Compressor clutch?
The whole compressor?

Compressor is shot. From what you had stated, the compressor is probably seized. Replacing those ain't cheap, and it's not that easy, either, as you should replace the accumulator at the same time. There is also something else that needs replaced, I just can't think of the name of it. Orifice tube?

Good luck with that.

yeah i believe it's the orfice tube, they get plugged. happened in my cutlass. what a pita that was. like big c snow said, sounds like the compressor is seized, i wouldn't operate it again until you have it replaced, just in the event that it snaps your belt. good luck.

If the compressor shelled out you need to replace everthing, the metal grit trapped in the system will just waste your new compressor within a year.

Depending on the status of the refridgerant will you need to replace the accumulator and orifice tube. Have it checked at a shop for the status of the refridgerant.

A/C work is worth it if you live in so cal, but even I ditched my a/c from my Mustang. However if you can do it get er done
