Welcome and congrats! I hope it is not the extremely rare green/tan color combo :) Specific questions are always welcome, there is also quite a bit of information available through searching, though you may have to dig at times. Post pics of your ride when you get a chance :omgsho:

What to look out for will depend on whether the car was driven regularly or not. At 100K, on the auto, pretty much all servicing is due, front and top. You can get an idea reading over the pages on this site:

60K Mile Service
As to what else? Sticking butterfly actuators, clogged EGR nostrils, crumbly vacuum hoses, bad blend door actuator, weak fuel pump, gummed up injectors, etc are possibilities.

I would also pay attention to the transmission fluid condition, hopefully it still looks/smells good. In that case, service it first before putting miles on it. May still need a rebuild, but hopefully not.

Check the suspension, those strut rods are a real pest. If you can upgrade to a Gen III subframe setup, the ride will be significantly better plus you will make working on the car easier.

I got lucky with the single owner that person always took it into the dealership for EVERYTHING (i have both the owners manual 'with stamps' and carfax for all types of visits.) Im driving kinda "grandma" till i get the timing belt replaced because thats the thing thats missing in the book. It has just rolled into the 107,000 mark and it should of been done 7k miles ago.

All the hoses seem fine.
I need to look at the trans fluid since i have had it for a few weeks.(smells fine) still shifts solid*
Suspension is surprisingly good (not very stiff but has some nice push) also sat for 2+ years)
Its going in for a timing belt next month i just drive to work (2 miles) so like i said just being easy on it.

Again thanks for all the input!!!!!!

Congratulations and welcome :thumb: Glad to hear that the SHO was taken care of. I just recently became the owner of a 94 3.2 ATX as well!

If you haven't already, definitely research the 60k, and if necessary, rod bearing replacement.

Been a long week but its going in Tuesday for timing belt,CPS, and main crankshaft oil seal.

Not sure what else I should have replaced while I have it in for the timing belt, any suggestions?

Was thinking of water pump I have to find the paper work because I think it was replaced before i bought it and seems to be fine. (If I can afford it I might just get it replaced anyways just to be sure and not have to deal with it a few miles down the road)
Whats CKS?

WELCOME! This forum is your place to come if you plan on keeping the car and not abandoning ship at the first sign of vehicle trouble. I've been around the S.H.O. scene since early 1998 and it's been awesome since. The car turned me in to a certified mechanic lol.

Enjoy your car and kick back and stay a while. I think you're gonna enjoy the antics and camaraderie that exists here. I've made friends for life....even though I'm sort of an a**hole

So I am new to this form. But I am not new to the SHO I have had 3 of them so far. I really need help with something I need to do the rod bearings but I want to know if there is a special procedure I should follow. Should I polish the crank with some Emery cloth in stages while the engine is still in or can I just put new bearings with assembly **** and put it back together. By the way I have a 1991 white s h o black interior half leather have cloth.
