I just got rid of my 2015 Mustang GT and bought a 2011 SHO. One thing I miss, however, is the lane change feature on my Mustang. When you move the turn signal lever, the turn signal would flash 4 times. Is there any way to put an add-on to get the SHO to do this?

Welcome to the SHO.
You’ll have to wait for a Forscan expert to chime in but I would think you’d be able to with that software. I know at least ‘13’s and up came with it.

It’s on my list of things to do but I haven’t messed with it personally so I really can’t explain with any accuracy or experience. But, it’s software you can download that lets you make changes to operations. I’m particularly interested in getting rid of the double beep when you get out with it running and the key is inside.

I know I’ve read about people adding to the amount of flashes on the turn signal but I can’t say for sure if you can enable the feature if you don’t already have it.

I dont think the 11 even has a lane change feature. I'm looking at the wsm and wiring diagram and there is no mention of this feature. The multifunction switch is a direct input to the smart junction box.

In later taurus, the ones with the lane change feature, the turn signal switch is an input to the steering column control module. You can modify the as-built data in the SCCM to change how many flashes occur during a "lane change." Since you dont have a SCCM and I dont see that the sub system has lane change you may be S.O.L.

Interesting twist on your changeover, Larry. I have both a 2011 SHO and a 2015 GT Premium. The SHO is my daily driver and the GT chills most of the time (other than two excursions to Summit Point for HPDE), especially during the winter.

Johnbigdog -- Sorry to hear the 2011 doesn't have the SCCM. I have the FORScan tool and most of the codes. Looking up changing the flash was on my list of things to research. Now that I know it's not there, I'll save the research time for something I can actually change.
