Welcome to SHOforum, Lamarr, glad to have you and your SHO join our community :) PP or non-PP, first Ford or ...? What are you looking to get out of the performance mods?

Hi @SHOdded its my first Ford. Previously owned an Audi A6 4.2. I own a '14 and was looking at an Air intake (Roush makes up to '13 model) and info on replacing exhaust to get a more throaty sound.
I live in NJ and need a quality performance shop too.

An intake for the '13 will fit the '14 also just fine, FYI. Hopefully some NJ members will chime in with their favorite shops, but in the meantime, you can lookup places online like repairpal and yelp to locate a good exhaust/muffler shop near you.

Welcome to the forum. I'm curious as to how you 14 SHO stacks up against your Audi A6 4.2. Again welcome to the madness.

Both are "scary' fast. My A6 had a low center of gravity so it really handled well. The tiptronic was nimble and I often relied upon it when I needed to dart in and out of traffic during my daily commute, or when i wanted to feel like "The Transporter" on my drives to Maryland to see family.
I haven't had my SHO long enough to really give as informed opinion of its performance because, to be honest, I learn new sh*t everyday that blows me away.
Any way here's the stats:
Audi A6 4.2: Specifications
VEHICLE TYPE:front-engine, 4-wheel-drive, 5-passenger, 4-door sedan

ESTIMATED BASE PRICE:$45,000-$50,000

ENGINE: 4.2-liter DOHC 40-valve V-8, 335 hp, 310 lb-ft

TRANSMISSIONS:5-speed manual, 4-speed and 5-speed autos with manumatic shifting.

DIMENSIONS:
Wheelbase:111.9 in Length:193.5 in
Width: 73.0 in
Height: 57.4 in
Curb weight:3700-3850 lb

PERFORMANCE RATINGS (MFR'S EST):
Zero to 62 mph: 6.1 seconds
Top speed (governor limited): 155 mph

SHO Stats:
ENGINE TYPE:twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 24-valve V-6, aluminum block and heads, direct fuel injection

DISPLACEMENT:213 cu in, 3496 cc
Power: 365 hp @ 5500 rpm
Torque: 350 lb-ft @ 1500 rpm

TRANSMISSION:6-speed automatic with manual shifting mode

DIMENSIONS:
Wheelbase:112.9 in
Length: 202.9 in
Width: 76.2 in Height: 60.7 in
Curb weight (C/D est): 4350 lb

PERFORMANCE (C/D EST):
Zero to 60 mph: 5.2 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 17.6 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 13.7 sec
Top speed (governor limited): 133 mph

At this point, to me it's a toss up. I've had 3 Audis in a row so I know what to expect. (power/handling)
The A6 had less body roll in corners . My SHO sips gas on the hwy but guzzles in the street. I love the wow effect when people see me and ask "WTF is that?"
My sister owns a '10 stage 1 ROUSH Mustang
So I wanted some American Muscle for my own. Once I get my mods done and get the sound and performance I want
I'm sure I will be even more happy with my purchase of this beloved vehicle.

I'm often in MD visiting my kids (College Students) and near the Upper Marlboro area. If you know of any good shops...I'm open to checking them out.

There are a few good repair/service shops near me, reasonable rates. John Hook Automotive and Beltsville Garage are two of the ones I have used most recently (found them via Yelp!). You can make appointments online, but of course, you should call and talk to them to see if they are in your comfort zone.

When I still had my SHOs, I used to go to ProTech Automotive in Gaithersburg, but Kevin has since sold the business and moved on. Superior Auto in Rockville is also a good shop, but they are relatively expensive. I never needed to use anyone else, so don't have references for a ******** performance shop.
