New old stock transmissions

Hi folks, thought I would share some info. I just bought a 2011 trans from a large salvage yard in LA. The unit has roughly 100 miles. Seller said he bought 100 or so complete drive trains from Ford. He has others for sale if anyone is interested. The unit arrived in a big plastic crate and it does look it had minimal use physically. They come with 6 month warranty.

If he bought them new from Ford, how did they get 100 miles on 'em? Does Ford do "run in" on the trannies before they are installed in vehicles?

I just wonder if the SEL and Limited trans are the exact same trans as the SHO. What is the difference between the 6F50 and the 6F55?

No matter not even I could bust a trans in a 100 miles! 6f55 isheavy duty...

I do not know if this is a 6f50 or 55 transmission. The last letter(s) after the 7000 call number will determine that I guess.

Honestly tho, it looks like a 6f50. 6f55 trans were not used in the Edge until 2015, and IDK if those are interchangeable with the SHO.

I'll have to verify this. The seller told me it was a 6f55 and that the drive trains were all sho cars.

I found several listings that indicate the part number on it are for a SHO. I have found the Ebay compatability charts incorrect several times. Heres the numbers, I'll ask my Ford dealer to be sure.
