Do you want to go to a 3.2?

There are 3 ways to go about it.

1. You can go to the junkyard or buy a low mile motor off of the forum/ebay/etc... and drop it in. There is not much to it. You can change the accessiories to the 3.0 if you want. You can also replace gaskets and seals as you want.

2. You can get a 3.0 or 3.2 and rebuilt from the ground up. This could mean having a 3.0 bored to a 3.2 and getting pistons from SHOnut or getting a 3.2(or 93+ 3.0) and boring it to 3.3 this would also use SHOnut pistons. You can then build it up as needed.

I bought a rebuilt 3.2 SHO block and I am building it up with new gaskets and pumps. I am adding all bolt ons that I have.

3. You can buy a built SHO motor from the SHOShop or Ford Performance Specialist or any one else.

So there are different ways to go about ti. It depends on money, time and ability.

What is it about '93 and newer 3.0L engines that allow the overbore to 3.3L? Are the cylinder walls thicker? If so has anyone sonic checked them over the '92 and older 3.0L engines to determine the difference? Lastly, what is the maximum that people have bored the 3.2L engine?

Thanks, Josh

IIRC, there's a 3.6 or something. I'm not 100% sure though!

shoshop has details about a 3.6, but i don't know of anyone using it. there's at least one forum member here with a 3.3 i believe he also has blue rims.

The SHOShop does have a 3.6 but it tend to shear cranks and has a rev limit of 6k. It can nto handle boost. It is a stroker kit.

The 93 cylinder walls are thicker to compensate for the 3.2.

The maximum a 3.2 can be bored too is 3.3.
